#FreeProductReceivedWhatever your New Year’s resolutions might be, we know how difficult it is to keep them. Research shows that late January signals the trailing off of fitness club visits, healthy eating commitments, and vows to live with less stress.

Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions with These 5 Steps:

Ito En Yoga On Water1. Do it for you.
The most important part of change is your will to do so. If you change for someone else, you will most likely find it harder to maintain your intention to change. Do what you want to do. Do it for you. You deserve it.

2. Be realistic: change one thing at a time.
Keep it simple and change one thing at a time. It is challenging enough to change one behavior, and taking on too much can disperse your focus and motivation. Stay focused on one change, and follow through. Through your success, you will find the energy and belief in yourself to do anything you set your mind to!

3. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude.
Write a list of everything you are grateful for. You might want to change something, but focus on the many things that you love, and appreciate. A focus on gratitude gives you strength and a love for yourself that makes it easier to change what you find undesirable. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself when you succeed, AND when you fail. “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”

4. Make a plan
Create a plan of action to reach your goal. If you want to eat healthier food, you might create a healthier weekly meal plan. Shop when you are feeling full and content, and choose your groceries carefully. Research healthy, easy recipes online, and create action steps for your success. It may be helpful to consult a nutritionist, or enroll friends and family in your plan so they can support you along the way.

5. Recommit to your goal each day.

One of the biggest challenges for maintaining and reaching goals is to remember the goal. It sounds silly, but the human mind is forgetful, easily distracted, and loves to make excuses. Leave a note with your goal by your bedside, and read it twice daily, morning and evening. Ask yourself if you still want this goal, and recommit to it daily. This will keep your goal top of mind throughout your day, and throughout your state of rest.

ito en Oolong and Sencha Shots

Some people drink coffee or expresso to keep them focused and motivated. Did you now that the Japanese equivalent of an espresso  shot is a Sencha Shot?

SEN means to brew, steep, or boil a mixture of medicine or a healing drink. CHA is the Japanese/Chinese word for tea. Since tea was originally used as a medicine, This product was called Sencha. Brewed from premium Japanese loose tea leaves, Sencha Shot uses an advanced, deeper brewing method that yields both a high content of natural catechin tea antioxidants and a more full-bodied green tea taste.

  • Contains 152 mg of Catechin Tea Antioxidants per 6.4 fl oz can – 5 times more than the average ready-to-drink green tea based on the USDA Database for the Flavonoid Content of Selected Foods
  • All Natural
  • Unsweetened, No Calories
  • Vitamin C # No Added Color or Flavors
  • No Genetically Modified Ingredients
  • Brewed from Premium Loose Tea Leaves
  • Imported from Japan

ito en Tea FieldIto En sent me a can of Sencha Shot to review. It tastes exactly how I expected it to taste – Clean and fresh.

They also sent me a can of Oolong Tea to review.  Oolong, traditionally called Blue Tea, is a dynamic balance between green tea and black tea. Made from nothing but purified water, oolong tea, and vitamin C, it is an all-natural, unsweetened tea with no calories, no genetically modified ingredients, and no added flavors, or colors. It contains 171 mg of tea antioxidants per 6.4 fl oz can–five times more than the average ready-to-drink green tea. Moreover, it is a good source of the much needed vitamin C.

I have never had Oolong Tea before.  I prefer my tea a little sweeter but it wasn’t bad. I really like that it is a good source of vitamin C, we would all use a little extra of it this flu season!

My best tip is to take smaller steps and go slowly when it comes to weight loss and fitness so you don’t have huge expectations and set yourself up for failure. It takes about 3 months to get into a new routine so be patient and if you stick with it the results will be the same in the end and long lasting! 🙂

Smaller bites do make goals more attainable, at least for me! Sometimes it looks overwhelming, but if you break it down into smaller pieces you start getting a sense of acomplishment.

Love the “recommit every day”. That is the only way I can do this: blogging more, writing more, moving more… Thanks for your positive action-oriented attitude!

Even better than reading your list of goals every day is to write them down every day. This idea is from Brian Tracy who knows a thing or two about goals! I keep a notebook on my desk, and every morning after my Bible study time, I write down 10 of my goals in the present tense, without looking back at the previous pages. It is a wonderful addition to my morning!

I didn’t know that about Oolong tea!

I am using more healthful ingredients in our meals and cutting the harmful ones. It’s a small but significant step!

    Thanks!

Start of slow and set reasonable goals. I know that I used to have the problem where I would be all gung ho and would burn out. Start out with small things and start building from there.
