Although you likely associate Valentine’s Day with mushy-gushy romance, you don’t necessarily have to have a romantic partner to show your love. Next to the Christmas holiday season, Valentine’s Day is one of the hottest shopping occasions of the year. Those surveyed in January 2019 said they would spend an average $161.96 on Valentine’s Day

If you’re still getting your budget back on track from your holiday spending spree, don’t fret. You still have plenty of affordable options to celebrate your love for your significant other, your best buds and of course, your pets.

Something Practical, But Fun

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to just be about heart-shaped boxes of chocolates or flowers. If your guy prefers libations to sweets, give him a home beer brewing kit so that he can brew up a batch of his favorite ale. This Brooklyn Brew Shop Everyday IPA Beer Making Kit contains all of the equipment and ingredients he needs to make a gallon of beer, for less than $60. He can reuse the equipment over and over again, making it a gift that reminds him of you with each new batch.

Wine more their style? How about this beginners win making set for under $60. It has everything you need to make remarkable wine from scratch in under an hour from your own fresh fruit! It also has enough supplies to make 15 1-gallon batches.

Let’s Get Crafty!

Crafts are a great way for children to learn to use their hands and creativity!  There is this adorable Baker Ross Ltd Mosaic Heart Coaster Kit that will let your child create 6 heart coasters to give out as gifts.  A Wooden Heart Magnets Craft Kit would also help your child create cute gifts!Q You could also get that special child in your life some Valentine’s Day coloring books.  Need some more inspiration? Get this Valentine’s Day Crafts book that has step by step instructions for all kinds of crafts!

A Basket Full of Love

Nothing says “I love you” like tradition. You can go the more traditional, but still budget-friendly route and surprise your partner or best friends with a Valentine’s Day gift basket. Give the chocolate-lovers on your list a tin full of Ghiradelli chocolates or your candy bar fanatic friends a “bouquet” of candy flowers.

Something Inspiring

Just as some people prefer to celebrate Christmas and the winter holidays by giving gifts that help others, some prefer to honor Valentine’s Day by helping charities. If you want to inspire your partner, spouse or friends this holiday without spending a lot of money, think about giving a gift to charity in their names.

Something for Your Pet

Don’t forget your furry friend this Valentine’s Day. Fido might not understand the purpose of the holiday, but that’s no reason not to shower him with a little extra love.

Chocolate can be deadly for pets so consider a pet-safe sweet treat. Claudia’S Canine Cuisine Gift Assortment Dog Cookies would be a great option for your dog. Your feline family member might enjoy the Purple and Pink Cat Toys 20 Piece set!

For your aquatic pet, you can get them the Exotic Environments Heart Castle It is available in two sizes, and is safe for fresh or saltwater aquariums and terrariums

I appreciate this post because I always have a hard time thinking of things for my hubby! I did buy him a beer making kit last year. This year for Christmas, but I found a hops plant for him. Growing strong so far 🙂
