A few months ago my beloved mac kept getting the dreaded “spinning wheel of death” .
Sureit happened whenI had a a few tabs open, but I *needed* pintrest, twitter, facebook all open at once! When I am writing a review, I usually have a tab open for each social media outlet of the product I am reviewing. I didn’t think you could upgrade the memory on an imac because it’s just a monitor – there is no tower, and I didn’t see any slots or openings where I could get inside.
Luckily we did a google search one day and came across a youtube video that explaind how to upgrade your Memory! On the underneath part of the monitor screen there was two tiny screws. Once you took them out you could use a ribbon cable to pull out your memory slots! The video had recommended going to crucial.com and letting them run an online scan of your computer. Once the scan is completed, they recommend how much memory you computer could handle, as well as what type of memory you need.
Turns out I only had 1 GB of Ram and some of the software I had (like photoshop, and the Sims which Tony’s daughter plays on my computer) recommended more! They recommended two, 2GB sticks of ram. With shipping being free it was only about $70 which was far more affordable than other stores online that we checked. As You can see, I now have a total of 4GB ram and I haven’t seen the spinning wheel of death since I upgraded. My computer is so much faster now – it is like a brand new computer!

Wow! That would sure be nice to win! I would love $10,000 worth of Apple gift cards!
Thanks for the info. It sounds great.
That’s the problem I have with my phone! It’s my main camera, so it’s always too full of pictures to load anything else. (Even phone calls sometimes.) Silly how we’ll just plow through it for so long without fixing it! lol

I don’t have an apple, but very interesting info actually for any computer. Thanks
Diane, thanks for commenting on my blog, and so honestly. I have to agree with you, being quiet and still are two of the hardest things for me to master. However, on the occasions I get it right, the rewards are remarkable. Hope you’ll visit again sometime soon.
Great information (though I’m a PC, not a MAC) and what a cool giveaway.
Read you again soon.
Peace and good.
Thanks for this, my computer is driving me mad at the minute when it just decides to stop working il have to check out the memory on mine !
I’m glad you were able to add more RAM versus having to buy a whole new computer – much cheaper. Thanks for sharing the giveaway!
THank you so much!! My computer has been acting crazy lately. Thank you!
Sounds like a great solution! I’ll have to check it out.
