I have always wanted canvas art for our living room, more specifically, I wanted the art to have a giraffe in it. I have a slight obsession with giraffes that stems from being made fun of in school for being so tall.
When I was given the chance to review a piece of art from FulcrumGallery.com it didn’t take me long to pick out what I wanted. I immediately fell in love with the Ann Brodhead Safari Giraffe.
FulcrumGallery.com offers a selection of over 200,000 works of art, encompassing nearly every imaginable subject matter, and offers a range of value added services such as custom framing and canvas transfers. They ship to thousands of customers each month, worldwide and are a privately owned company operating in South Brunswick, New Jersey.
FulcrumGallery.com also maintains a blog, and I was thrilled to see a feature on Giraffes! You can use their website, their blog, or an number of art history sites to find out more about art.
The artwork arrived quickly and was packaged quite well. A huge package was on my doorstep which confused me because this piece of artwork was only 20 x 8. Inside the large box was another smaller box which contained the art. The smaller box had cardboard around it so it did not slide around inside the bigger box.
I decided to hang the canvas above the couch, in between two other pictures we had.
I am very pleased with this piece of artwork! I love that you are able to select from so many different finishing options when ordering!
I chose the following options:
- Canvas Transfer
- Museum Wrap (staples on back)
- Deep Bars
- Khaki Painted Sides
- Regular Brushstrokes
You can find out more about the various options on their website.
I love this canvas because I have wanted a piece of art of a giraffe where you could see its surroundings and looked realistic, but wasn’t an actual photograph. I wanted it to have lots of tans and browns in it to match all of our living room furniture. This canvas was a perfect match for what I was looking for. I chose the Deep Bars (sides) so you could really see the Khaki color which matches our couch. I also wanted this piece of art to be thicker than the art around it, just to make it more interesting.
When you are customizing your art, I love that it shows you other related artwork. For instance, it let me know that this giraffe art was part of a series by the same artist, which also contained a lion, tiger and zebra. It also suggested other giraffe artwork that I might be interested in.
