$50 Target GC + GE reveal® light bulbs

FreeProductForReview

A quick and easy way to makeover your home for the New Year is to switch your light bulbs to GE reveal® for clean beautiful light that will make the colors of any room pop. GE reveal® bulbs provide amazing clean full spectrum light that filters out the dull yellows of standard incandescent light bulbs.

So you might remember a while back I posted that GE was offering me the chance to makeover a room in my home, and I chose our mancave.  I shouldn’t really call it a mancave, since that is where MY computer is.  I actually spend more time in the mancave than Tony does, since that is where I do all my blogging.  We have a laptop, but I find sitting at a desk keeps me a little more focused on the task at hand.

The mancave has wood paneling that is a little on the dark side, so it is a little drab to begin with.   Our old lights gave off a very yellow glow, and made the room seem even more drab.  Not having any windows isn’t helping any either!

Here are some before and after shots:

Man Cave Before and After

I’m not sure why my camera made the “Before” look THAT yellow. It did not look that yellow in person.

Bills Wall Before and After

The wood looks more neutral, and the royal blue and reds look brighter in the “after”.

Blogging Corner BEFORE and AFTER

Everything in the “before” had a yellow tint it, everything in the “after” appears more neutral.

Oliver shelf BEFORE and AFTER

The blanket Oliver is laying on looks like two different colors! Also, in the “after” Olivers face looks as white as it really is!

Overall I am very pleased with the results.  The GE reveal® bulbs make our basement mancave look a less dull.  Our favorite teams colors are bright again.

My bedroom, where I do my most paper work / computer work. I hate how yellow the light looks. It just makes the room dim and less vibrant compared to when sunshine comes in. Would love a clearer light.

Our mudroom needs a major renovation on lighting. We still have those long tube lights- I don’t even know what they are called.

There are so many rooms in my house that are dark and depressing regardless of the different bulbs I’ve tried. I would love to do something in my kitchen so I can actually see the food when I cook at night!
