Sorry for the lack of updates! Between moving, unpacking and getting back to work I have been crazy busy! While I was off of work during the time we were moving, one of my coworkers broke her ankle! She normally runs the black and white digital printers Mondays through Friday. She is going to be out AT LEAST another 5 weeks so I’m going to have to pick up a lot of her hours on Monday – Wednesday and I would already be working my regular 12 hour shift on Thursday and Friday so the other two guys will take her hours those days. The worst part is that summer is our busiest time (we print A LOT of text books)  and with her out it makes it that much crazier! Plus we do a lot of the printing for a certain national bowling chain that just so happens to be having a huge summer promotion where kids can bowl for free.

The kitties have fully adjusted to the new place and decided that having races on the stairs is really fun – in the middle of the night.  I was really worried that they would hate me for making them move – especially after Jewel puked all over her carrier as we brought her in the first day.  The love laying in the windows, and these window sills are much wider than the ones at the old place so they can lay on their side and stretch out!  Harley still gets scared if a neighbor walks by the window, but at least he doesn’t go run and hide in the basement anymore like he did the first few days!

We put Harley’s favorite bed down in the “man cave” and whenever he hears Tony going downstairs he trots after him.  As much as Harley likes his bed, I can’t tell you how many times I have found Tony and Harley napping together in the recliner! They seem to like it down there, its cooler and nobody bothers them. Jewel prefers laying in our bedroom window – I think she likes being on the second floor better because she has a better view of the birds in the trees.

Tony’s daughter spent her first night here last night. We knew she would be scared to sleep alone in her new room since she never slept in her room at our old apartment.  At the old place she always slept in the living room when we had her on weekends.  Its a long story I would rather not get into right now.  After some tears she fell asleep and slept soundly the whole night all by herself.   She even asked her dad if she could have her best friend come sleep at our place with her one night.  That tells me she feels safe here, and must like it enough to bring a friend here – she never asked to bring a friend to our old place!

Tomorrow I’m going to work in the morning for a little bit, and when I get home I am going to plant the flowers I bought tonight in our garden.  I got solid purple and white with purple striped Petunias!  We already have flowering bushes in the back (I forget what kind they are – but the flowers are pink and in the rose family), and all different kinds/colors of lilies in the middle.
