3 DIY Projects to Help You Stay Warm This Winter Pin

The months of the year that tend to be the coldest are also the ones that tend to feel the longest. Most people spend a great deal of the winter season counting down the days until spring arrives. Even though the holiday season is filled with fun and excitement, it is only for a little while. Once it is over and all you are left with is the cold of winter, you can find yourself waiting for the day when spring has finally sprung.

One way in which you can make the winter months more bearable is by taking the opportunity to test out your DIY skills on some useful projects. There are actually a number of items of clothing and other products that you can make for yourself and for your friends and family that will help you all to stay warm and toasty while you wait out the remainder of winter.

Here are three DIY projects that can help you to stay warm this winter.

1. A Scarf Face Mask

These days, you are likely finding yourself with more than one reason to keep your face covered up. That being said, if your primary reason is to keep the cold away from your lips and cheeks, which can become dry and cracked with the cold winds of winter, you can fashion yourself a scarf mask from GST.

The best part about this project is that it doesn’t use too many materials. You can most likely find what you need among your existing collection of crafting materials. While this isn’t going to be a covid-deterring face mask (unless you use medical-grade materials) it will still serve to keep your face nice and warm for the rest of winter.

2. Hand Warmers

Another great DIY project that doesn’t require many materials is a DIY hand warmer. With just a few household objects, you can make a hand warmer that you can simply throw in the microwave for a few seconds and then use to keep your hands toasty as you venture out into the wintery cold.

The key to this project is to use a material that will hold heat for an extended period of time. Uncooked rice is a popular choice for these purposes as it can be safely microwaved and will hold heat for a while. In fact, you can even use your new hand warmer to target sore muscles in the same way that you would use a heating pad.

3. Bath Mats

If you find yourself walking in the bathroom in the morning only to be met with freezing cold floors on your feet, then you should consider making some DIY bath mats for your bathrooms. There are a number of ways that you can do this, so you will doubtless be able to find a pattern and style that suits your décor. Simply choose the pattern that you like the most and be ready to have your feet greeted with warm comfort every time you enter your bathroom.
