My New Kick – Nail Polish!

I have always liked nail polish.  I remember saving up baby sitting money so I could go to the stores with my friends and get all the new cool colors.  Once I started working in the printing industry I almost completely stopped wearing it.  The color sometimes rubs off on the paper and I tend to get my hands pretty banged up so my nail polish chips a lot.  I wear nail polish on my toes year round – I think my toes look weird “naked”.  Every so often I go through and throw out any old, dried up polishes I have.  Here is what remains as of today:

All My Nail Polish

I don’t really know why, but I figured that I would organized them by brand name.  The bottom row is odd balls Where I only had one of a particular brand. Since my friend Carolyn sells Avon I have started buying Avon nail polish when it goes on sale. I’ve also started wearing finger nail polish a lot more! Here is what I have so far from Avon:

My Avon Polishes

Yes I realize the two blues look remarkably similar but they are different.  The splendid blue (on the right) looks like it has sliver glitter flecks in it, where the stunning cobalt (on the left) is more of an overall shimmer.

After I took this picture I realized I also had 3 more Avon polishes that I has somehow missed – they were on my nightstand. One is a shimmery purple, another is a solid navy and the other is a dark brown.

So far I love Avon polishes – they go on so smooth! If I paint my nails on Sunday and put the clear coat on top, I can make the polish last usually until Friday which is my second day of working a 12 hour shift. The only problem I have had I think I might have had with any polish.  When we were camping I wore socks and sneakers the one day I knew we would be out sight-seeing all day.   It was in the upper 90’s and humid. After 8 hours on my feet I got back to the campsite and couldn’t wait to get my sweaty feet into flip flops.  The only problem was the nail polish on my toes was actually stuck to the inside of my socks!  The heat and humidity made the polish so tacky!  It was the weirdest thing! I don’t think it was anything wrong with the polish, I just think the weather created the perfect storm for messing up my polish.

I can’t wait for the next sale so I can buy some more colors!

Here are some pictures of mani / pedis I have done with Avon products.

Love love love your review Diane! I love that your mani/pedi’s aren’t the same color! That’s weird about your nail polish …. what clear did you put over top of the nail polish? The UV guard? Let me know and I’ll look into it. Thanks! Carolyn

yes it was the UV guard. I haven’t had a problem on other hot days – I think it was just SO hot and humid that day and I was stuck in sneakers for 8+ hours!

That’s an awesome collection! Sadly, my children have diminished my nail polish collection to two bottles. The others have been spilled, thrown out, and broken.

I love your nail polish collection! I have also recently REALLY gotten into nail polish in the past few months, and I joined the Julep Maven program so I get new nail polishes every month. I have been loving it!
