Do you have trouble falling asleep at night? I do. I must have the tv on for a little while but then I wake up and shut it off, unless the cable box has already timed out and turned itself off. Sometimes my mind goes racing in a bunch of different directions and I replay every conversation, every action over and over until I stress myself out so bad that I can’t fall asleep.
I hate taking pills because they generally leave me feeling groggy in the morning. I am always on the lookout for non-pill forms of relaxation. Owning my own house has allowed me to relax in ways not possible when we were renting. Sure we are in the middle of a bunch of home improvement projects but this is all mine. I can go out on the deck in my pajamas and enjoy a cup of coffee while watching all kinds of birds visit my feeder. Even the occasional deer stops by to enjoy some apples or berries from my (or my neighbors) yard.
Another thing that I have found to help me relax is the Ohuhu® Ocean Wave Night Light Projector and Music Player, that I was able to review for free. I haven’t used it as a music player yet because I really wanted this for the Night Light Projector feature.
While it is very relaxing, I do wish it has some improvements. First of all, the box did not come with any instructions. Granted, it is not that hard to figure out, but I would expect instructions to be included.
I also wish there was an easier way to select which color mode you wish to view. If you keep pressing the center button, it will change modes, and once you go through all of them, it will shut itself off.As you can see in the picture above, the projection is straight up, meaning the pattern will be centered right above where you place the projector. I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t have a spot in the center of my room where I can set this down. My night stands and dressers are against the wall, which means The pattern is more visible and brighter against once side of the ceiling. I wish you had the ability to tilt the projection to aim it towards the center of the room.
Above is a picture of the 8 different color combinations You can get the projector to stay on the solid colors (Blue, Green or Red), but the multi colored ones are actually cycling through various color combinations. Below is what it actually looks like on my ceiling.
I have only used this plugged into the wall, but I read other reviews where people used batteries. I have always manually shut this off, before actually falling asleep, but I read other reviews where people said it automatically shuts off after an hour. That is a great feature if you are using it as a night light, but if you are using it for ambiance at a party, you are going to have to keep turning it back on. Had the projector come with instructions, or any sort of paperwork, I would already known about both of these features, and would have not had to read other people’s reviews on Amazon to find out.
With all that said, this projector is pretty cool. It is bright enough that you can see the different colors and movement on your ceiling but not so bright that it would be too distracting to fall asleep. This would be great in a nursery or childs room!
In case you missed it, here is a video of the projector in action that we posted to our Facebook page earlier in the week:
