#FreeProductReceived

My job isn’t fancy, it’s a sneakers, jeans and t-shirt type atmosphere.  We can’t afford to go anywhere fancy – we prefer local casual restaurants.  We rarely go out to the bars, and if we do it’s usually a sports bar.  The point is I didn’t really see the need to wear makeup. Even when I was single in college I only wore eyeliner and some lipstick when we went out to the clubs.

At some point over the last few months I decided to turn over a new leaf.  I needed to start doing things to motivate and inspire myself.  The stress finding out my father has Multiple Myeloma (Cancer of plasma cells in bone marrow) as well as Amyloidosis ( the body accumulates deposits of abnormal proteins) has been really getting to me.  My dad was turned down for clinical trials as well as stem cell transplants because he is “too fragile”.  He was however cleared for chemotherapy.

I booked a hot stone massage last month and have a deep tissue one scheduled for the end of the month. I told Tony I wanted to start finding more nature trails to get us out of the house and  we ended up booking a camping trip the very next day at a local park.  We are going camping again this coming Sunday – Wednesday at Wellesley Island State Park which is in the Thousand Islands Region of NY.    These two camping trips will only be our 2nd and 3rd vacations in the 8 years we have been together. Sure we fly down once a year to visit my parents but that’s not really a vacation.  I started painting my fingernails again – even though when I go to work it is just going to get messed up.  I feel so awful on the inside, looking pretty on the outside seems to make me feel better.

My friend and fellow blogger, Carolyn happens to be an Avon representative and offered to send me some Avon products to review!  If you have never tried Avon before, or you just want to restock on your favorites I highly recommend ordering  Avon through Carolyn!

I received GLIMMERSTICKS Eye Liner in Blackest Black, Jillian Dempsey for Avon Lash Professional Mascara in Black and Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss SPF 15 in Golden Sand.

The GLIMMERSTICKS Eye Liner in Blackest Black goes on really smooth without any tugging.  I love that it comes in a self sharpening tube that you just twist to get more out.  It is really easy to put it on as thin or thick as you like. I haven’t had any problems with it smudging either!  I have never tried any eyeliner color other than really dark browns and blacks but I would be willing to try the Starry Night Blue and some of the other ones since they are so affordable!

Next up is the Jillian Dempsey for Avon Lash Professional Mascara in Black. I think this mascara is unique because it has a big brush for your upper lashes as well as baby brush for your lower lashes and hard to reach corners!  Eyeliner alone is nice, but eyeliner with mascara really makes my eyes pop!

I have admitted before I am a lip product addict. I always have lip gloss and lip balm in my purse, my car, my locker at work etc.. At first I thought the Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss SPF 15 in Golden Sand was going to be to “brown” for me, but it goes on pretty neutral. It keeps my lips moisturized for a long time and I love the shimmer! I’m actually going to buy more colors!

I’m not going to start wearing makeup to work all the sudden but I have started wearing it out and about! I’m not doing it to impress anyone , I already snagged me a pretty awesome fiancé, I’m doing it for ME because it make ME feel good!

Close up so you can see the lip gloss shimmer!

These aren’t the only Avon products I love! Read my review of Avon’s  Sparkling Foot Tub , Foot Works Lavender Collection Gift Set and Foot Works All-in-1 Pedicure Tool!

I want to give a huge thank you to Carolyn for sending me these products!  Not only does she sell Avon, but she also shares all kinds of beauty information on her facebook page!
