#FreeProductReceivedWalgreens has launched  “Ology™” the first nationally accessible and affordable brand formulated to be free of harmful chemicals.

Exclusive to Walgreens family of companies, the Ology brand features a line of baby and personal care products, as well as household cleaners and is the solution to the growing consumer demand for products free of harmful formulations.

Ology products from WalgreensOlogy liquid products are free of harmful chemicals and include:

  • Baby Care – lotion and 2-in-1 body wash
  • Laundry – liquid detergent and fabric softener
  • Cleaners – glass cleaner and all-purpose cleaner
  • Personal Care – adult shampoo and conditioner

Ology brand products also include light bulbs and paper products that are 100 percent tree-free and made from readily renewable resources.

  • Paper – bath and facial tissue, paper towels and copy paper
  • Lighting – compact fluorescent light bulbs

Since the line is new, only launching in November, Walgreens offered me a $15 gift card so I could pick out a product or two to review.  Much to my surprise, I was actually able to get 3 Ology products, and only go slightly over the gift card!  I knew we were almost out of toilet paper and a general cleaning product so I knew I wanted to grab those for sure.

I ended up purchasing:

Ology Products I tried

Ology Toilet PaperSo the first thing I noticed about the Ology Soft & Strong Bath Tissue was that it is made from sugar cane husks and bamboo.  The renewable sugar cane husk would otherwise be disposed, and bamboo is so quick-growing that it regenerates in as little as six months! The bath tissue is also biodegradable!  I was worried that it might be rough, because the products that it is made from sound rough.  It was a lot softer than I anticipated, but still not nearly as soft as other national brands.  That is actually a good thing for us, we actually don’t like the super soft toilet paper!  As for absorbancy and cleaning, it sure beats the cheap brand we usually buy in bulk from Sams Club. I REALLY like how it is not made from trees, yet acts and feels like toilet paper made from trees – Why didn’t someone think of it sooner??

Ology Laundry DetergentThe Ology Laundry Detergent Spring Lavender & Vanilla smells WONDERFUL. I will say the first three loads of laundry I did with it, I did drop the cap as I was pouring it into the detergent tray. The cap is really small, because it is 2x concentrated, and I tend to be a sloppy pourer.  The detergent is really slippery, but does not contain any harmful chemicals which is really nice.  After washing over two weeks worth of clothes with Ology Laundry Detergent Spring Lavender & Vanilla I can tell you it does a GREAT job cleaning clothes!  I do wish the detergent bottle had a bigger handle to make for easier pouring, but it wouldn’t stop me from buying it again.

Ology All Purpose Cleaner

The Ology All Purpose Cleaner Lemon & Lavender works great on counters and bathrooms! I love that there are no harmful chemicals, because with three cats,  it is hard to keep them from sniffing and licking stuff when we aren’t watching.  Much like the detergent, it too smells amazing!

I used to shop at Walgreens all the time, but they never send an ad so I always forget about them lately. I will definitely check this out next time I happen to stop in there.

I rarely go to Walgreens, but I may make a special trip to check out this product line. The lavendar vanilla sounds so good smelling. And I like that it’s HE too. Thanks for telling us about these.
