This bills haven’t had a winning season since I became a fan (around 2004). That sure doesn’t stop me from rooting for them. Sure I could just root for whoever is “hot” that year, but when it comes to sports, I’m loyal. To me, buffalo sports are like a marriage. For better or worse, in sickness and in health, ’till death do us part.
I grew up on Long Island, prime breeding ground for Jet and Giant fans. Sure my family watched sports but it was NEVER ANYTHING like the PASSION I saw from Buffalo fans when I moved Buffalo. Also, nobody ever really “taught” me football (or hockey) when I lived on Long Island. In college my roommate Jen, a buffalo native would always watch Bills and Sabres games and started talking to me about the basics. It wasn’t until I met Tony that I fully understood what was going on. When we first started dating he told me that days there were Sabres or Bills games either I had to watch with him, or I just wouldn’t see him that day. He explained how important sports were to him, and that if I didn’t want to watch that was ok, but not to expect him to miss a game. I appreciated how honest he was with me. I became such a football dork I printed out position charts (you know with the X’s and 0’s) so he could explain why people lined up where. The first year I played fantasy football I whooped some serious butt!
Up here in Western NY, marriages, vacations and yes, even the birth of children are centered around football (and hockey) season. We have already informed our friends and family that when we get married it will have late June thru August as to not interfere with any potential Buffalo Sabres playoff games, or Buffalo Bills training camp. Yup, sports are that serious to us.
Now On To the Pictures!
Our goal is to one day buy a bus and have it custom painted like this!

I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about football. Or any sport for that matter. But I think it’s exciting to attend a game that has so much passion for its team.
How fun!! You know, I’m not one for sports, but get me AT the game and I can root on the home team like any other avid fan 🙂 Something about the atmosphere!
Great photos! I feel the same way about the Packers…and boy, have we had craptastic seasons (but I’m still there-cheering them on). It’s been fun being a fan in the past few years, but they’ll always be my team. I love your photo in the middle with the hand holding the pom…Happy Wednesday! lambeaugal at charter.net
Turn around. We sit behind you in the family section (226). Hubby will be at all of the games, but the kids and I don’t do cold weather games. We’ll be back next year though!! Thanks for stopping by and for the kind comment. You get some great shots being so close. Have to say there is one benefit for us being higher up. You didn’t get to see much of the flag it appears. Oh, hubby said he would also love a bus/van like that. Happy Wordless Wednesday!!
don’t you just love & get caught up in real team spirit?!! I am a born & raised Packer fan, but didn’t really know what was going on until meeting my hubby too. we were lucky to see 2 live Packer games, tickets are very hard to get, they are always sold out! Love the action & colorful pics! thanks for stopping & linking up too! ~Faythe @ GMT~

Great photos! I’m not really into sports and don’t know anything about American Football, but my DH is a huge soccer fan!
I’m not a sports fan at all, but I really enjoy attending live games. Great photos!
