I have always wanted to have a herb garden but just never got around to it. We love lots of rich flavors in our foods, and nothing is better than fresh herbs right? I recently saw this video on the Gardenieres website about creating a Potted Herb Garden using a strawberry planter!
I actually have two tall strawberry pots as well as one smaller one! They would be PERFECT for a herb garden!I would definitely use Miracle-Gro® Potting Mix since it feeds plants up to 6 months. No mixing, no measuring! Plus, the organic materials help improve drainage and airflow. You need a good, quality soil because there are lots of roots trying to grow in a relatively small space. I was thinking of maybe doing different “themes” in each pot.
- Italian garden: sweet basil, oregano, thyme and rosemary. Perfect for adding to soups, sauce, and um… ANYTHING!
- Mexican salsa garden: cilantro, oregano, onions, peppers and tomatoes. The peppers and Tomatoes I would put each in their own huge planter – I already have a bunch of them!
