Omega-3s are thought to play an important role in reducing inflammation throughout the body — in the blood vessels, the joints, and elsewhere.  The FDA qualified a health claim for reduced risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) on conventional foods that contain EPA DHA omega-3 fatty acids. The claim is as follows:

“Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.”

Omega LIne UPThe two crucial omega-3 fatty acids — EPA and DHA — are primarily found in certain fish.  I HATE fish so I was interested in trying an Omega-3 EPA/DHA supplement.

Each 2oz. bottle of Omega Infusion Shots contain 250 mg of highly purified Omega-3s EPA/DHA, have zero calories and are Made in USA Certified. They are available in 3  flavors:

  • Raspberry Lemon
  • Peach Mango
  • Pink Grapefruit.

I received two Peach Mango, and two Pink Grapefruit to try.  First we tried the Peach Mango. I don’t really care for mango, so I wasn’t shocked when I didn’t enjoy the taste. It wasn’t horrible, it just wasn’t “yummy”.  Tony tried it and said it tasted like medicine, although I didn’t think so.

Next I tried the Pink Grapefruit.  It had a sweeter taste than the Peach Mango, but I thought this flavor tasted like medicine.Omega Shots

While we didn’t care for the flavors we received, it is MUCH better than fish – something we both really hate.  These shots are easy to down as you are running out the door to work or school.

You can buy Omega Shots right on their website: http://www.drinkomegas.com/ or in retail stores nationwide!

I wonder if you can actually get fish oils that are absorbed through the skin like you can with animals…I’ve been using a product called Dermoscent Essential, which you apply like a flea treatment on a weekly basis. Can be a bit easier than giving fish oil capsules to our pets. They certainly are great for skin conditions, did you get a nice shiny coat after your fish oil experiment?!
