Black Friday is almost here, so it is time to start putting your plan together! One of our favorite places to shop Black Friday sales is Kohl’s. After years of waiting in line for stores to open, we have predominantly moved to online shopping for Black Friday. This year our Buffalo Bills play on Thanksgiving so we will be home watching the game when a lot of stores, including Kohl’s, open for Black Friday, so we definitely will be focusing on the online sales this year.
This year Kohl’s Black Friday deals will be available online starting at 12:01 a.m. CT on Monday, November 25th. However, their big doorbusters won’t be available until 12:01 a.m. CT on Thursday, November 28th.
Prefer to tough out the crowds in person? Black Friday deals will be available in stores on Thursday, November 28th starting at 5 p.m. and Black Friday doorbusters will be available in stores starting Thursday, November 28th at 5 p.m. and online from 12:01 a.m. CT on Thursday, November 28th until 1 p.m. on Black Friday, November 29th (or while supplies last)

We have been to Kohl’s on Black Friday and got there about a half-hour before the store opened. There were literally NO parking spots left and the line to get in was wrapped around the store. Once we did make it inside it was obviously extremely crowded which made it very hot. We had to wait in line so long I started getting lightheaded. I highly suggest bringing a small snack and a water bottle with you if you are going to be braving the stores in person this year. Also even if it is cold where you live, don’t bundle up too much. Stores will be hot and you will be moving around a lot so dress in lightweight layers. You don’t want to end up carrying any bulky clothing you took off because it will make it harder to grab the deals!
Sometimes during the holidays, it is hard to tell what is really a good deal. Maybe a particular store was more expensive to begin with, so their sale price isn’t really that great. You really need to have a game plan and stick to it when it comes to Black Friday Deals. I can’t tell you how many times we have been out shopping the day after Thanksgiving and when we are walking around a store, we see something advertised as a great deal so we buy it only to realize that multiple other stores had it for a better price. Also, make a list of what you are planning on getting and stick to it! The worst thing you can do is wander around and just pick up “stuff” because it was a good deal. If you don’t need it and don’t have anybody to gift it to, it is just a waste of money.
