Back in 1998 Brenda, the founder of Butterfly Bakery, was experimenting with different sugar free recipes. Her mom had diabetes, who had a sweet tooth and was a tough critic. Brenda kept experimenting until one day her mom took a bite of her cake, and declared it, “Simplesmente perfeito!” (’Just perfect’ in Portuguese). Brenda knew she was on to something big, when her family and friends who weren’t diabetic began requesting her sugar free baked goods. That is when she started Butterfly Bakery!
Today their lines include Sugar Free,No Sugar Added, Gluten Free, Whole Grain and Low Calorie – all with the distinctive Butterfly taste that passed Brenda’s mom’s first test. Brenda isn’t shy about sharing her secret ingredient. It is Love, and it is baked into every bite!
Butterfly Bakery wants to spread the word about their products so they sent me a box of Sugar Free Double Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins, as well as one of No Sugar Added Mini Blueberry Muffins for free to review.
First I tried the Double Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins. Baked with a super rich dark chocolate and topped with semi sweet chips this super moist and fluffy muffin satisfied my sweet tooth. I had always been afraid to try Sugar Free baked goods, because I thought they couldn’t possibly taste as good as ones made with regular sugar. Boy was I wrong! These were really good! Their signature blend of sweeteners includes 100% natural Stevia, which helps to deliver their distinctive taste while providing no calories of it’s own. I just wanted to note that it says right on the label, that these are NOT a low calorie food.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
