As soon as I tasted the first piece it reminded me of being at the Jersey Shore at my Uncles Beach house. He lived in Point Pleasant Beach, just north of Seaside Heights. We would visit a few times each summer, and my parents always took me to Seaside Heights to play the arcade games and get taffy. I remember the taffy being delicious, a little on the hard side, and somewhat sticky. Anastasia Confections captured the taste perfectly but found a way to make it even better than what I remembered. Their taffy isn’t sticky at all, and it is softer without being mushy.
I loved trying all the flavors, but I think my favorites were the blue raspberry, neapolitan and grape. Sometimes grape flavored things taste like medicine, but that was NOT the case with the grape taffy.
Tony and I quickly devoured the entire bag in two days. Luckily I had hid the Coconut Patty they sent me so I could have it all to myself. I had never heard of Coconut Patty’s before, and I am not sure why, they are AMAZING! These unique treats first began as a Florida tradition, and have grown to become a nationwide delight. Each patty is made up of a smooth, shredded coconut texture that is then dipped in a rich dark chocolatey coating, making a perfect combination for coconut candy lovers.
