You should make sure you take advantage of Google’s rich search functionality. Search for industry related keywords and mentions of your brand. You should save your searches. When you do this, they will appear at the left side bar and you can use them for quick reference. Search your top keyword and brand name regularly to find conversations and mentions. Monitor all you daily saved searches and make sure you re-share people’s posts, comment on threads and respond to mentions.
In the event you do not have anything to say, a simple ‘great post’, ‘thanks for the mention’ or a +1 will let people know you are paying attention. When people know you are paying attention, they have higher likelihood of responding positively to your business. Engaging users will show that you are concerned and this makes them feel like they matter.
