Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based, beauty sampling program that delivers a box filled with 5 cosmetic samples to your door every month. Aimed at introducing women to new cosmetic products and educating them on best practices, Beauty Box 5 scours the market to find the best products for your lifestyle.
How It Works
Select the subscription plan that works best for you Every month you’ll receive a box with a mixture of cosmetic brands. Your beauty box will include a selection of makeup, hair care, skin care, nail care, fragrances and beauty accessories.
The cost is $12 a month (or $10 a month with a 3-month subscription; $8.25 a month with annual subscription).
I received:
- Travel Pack of La Fresh Facial Cleansing Wipes
- Sample size Aveen0 Daily Moisturizer
- Model Co. Illusion Lip Enhancer Kit
- Simply Sparkle Toe separators
- Mini Nubar nail polish in Kristal
I liked the La Fresh Facial Cleansing Wipes, but they weren’t anything different from the regular store brand I use. The sample sized Aveeno is nice to keep in my purse for when I am out, or at work. The Illusion Lip Enhancer Kit was a bit of a dissapointment. It was not much of a “kit” rather just a lip liner. It is supposed to match your lip color, so you can draw your lips fuller. I found the lip liner to be too brownish purple to match my lip tone and because I never wear lip liner, to me, I looked funny wearing it. Maybe people with thinner lips would find more benefit in this one than I did. The Toe separators are nothing special, you can buy them at any dollar store. I have never needed to use toe separators when painting my toe nails so I am going to give these to Tony’s daughter.
The nail polish was very glittery which I liked, but the glitter was very thin. You would definitely need a colored base coat and then at least 2 coats of this glitter color on top.
While it is fun to try new products, I don’t think this subscription program is for me. While I got this box for free, I don’t feel this box is worth $12. I know the Model Co. Illusion Lip Enhancer Kit is worth $20 alone, but I didn’t like, and won’t be using it. I have read other reviews of this box, and everyone seems to love the Model Co. brand – some people got lipsticks, some got the Lip Enhancer and others got a cheek/lip tint. I would have rather gotten the lipstick or lip tint.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
