Having worked with shadora.com previously to review their 2 Carat White Topaz Sterling Silver Stud Earrings , I was thrilled when they offered to send me their Diamond Accent Sterling Silver Hoop Earrings for free to review.
When my packaged arrived, I was excited to open the box and put them on. I was really disappointed. The one earring was so bent, that it wouldn’t even claps closed. I also couldn’t find any diamond accents. Now to be clear, I wasn’t expecting big diamond chips or even multiple mini chips. It is hard to see, but circles that you see in the picture from the Shadora.com website are actually just metal circles. I emailed the review coordinator on June 11th wondering if perhaps I got a defective pair. They answered the following evening say asking if I would like a replacement, and adding:
“…So the silver is made to look like diamonds so you get beautiful looking earrings at a fraction of the price you would normally pay had they been completely lined with diamonds. There is only one small diamond on each earring. You can find it by turning the earring around and you will see one small hole in the silver. That is where the diamond is set. “
I quickly wrote back that yes, I would like a replacement because I didn’t want to have to review defective earrings. On July 29th I emailed them again asking where the replacements were because my review was due soon, and they still hadn’t arrived. As of August 4th the earrings have yet to arrive, and they have not answered my email.
I’m not in the business of blogging just to get free stuff. I only apply to review thing that I would actually use and that I think my readers would like to know about. In 3 years of blogging I have only had a sponsor not follow through once. I am still holding out hope that my replacement earrings are on the way. Perhaps the review c0ordinator has been on vacation or something.
But, for now, here are some pictures of the defective earrings that I did receive.
They also wanted me to mention that they now sell nailpolish for just $1.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. As of right now, I can’t recommend these earrings. I hope I can give this review a positive update, but I think the pictures speak for themselves.
Oh my they look so tacky I wouldn’t buy them for $17.99 let alone $159.99. Looks to me like this company totally misrepresented their product…sad!!
The white topaz earrings I reviewed were as advertised. Nobody was going to think they were real diamonds, but they were advertized as white topaz. I think their products are fine for kids/teens who might loose or damage real, jewlery. Or maybe if you are going on vacation and don’t want to bring valuables. I think a lot of people are going to read the diamond accent part of these earrings and think there are lots of real diamond accents on the hoops.
