When we first got my My BioDefense UVSterilizing Travel Wand
A few days later I tried to use the UV wand again but I couldn’t get it to turn on. I grabbed the USB cord that came with it, and plugged it into my computer – it still wouldn’t turn on. I emailed the company and they quickly replied that one other blogger had the same problem, and that they would send out another immediately that they were aware of a defect in 1% of the units. My new wand arrived two days later and is working great!
We definitely plan on taking this wand with us when we go on vacations. I never trust that a hotel room is really as clean as it should be. One time we stayed at a nicer chain hotel in a beautiful room and lets just say there were small hairs and stains on the sheets. Unfortunately we didn’t discover it until very late at night. Luckily a walmart was open across the street and we bought a flat sheet and a blanket to put on top of the bed so we could lay down on something clean. Ever since then we always pack sheets and a blanket to put on top of the bed in a hotel. If they can’t clean the sheets, what else are they not cleaning? Eww, gross right? I wish I would have thought to get something like this for my father before he passed away. While he was “healthy” enough to not need chemo anymore, 18 months of chemo treatments left his immune system non-existant. Because of it, he rarely left the house, and friends/family rarely came over because they didn’t want to introcuce any germs. Around Christmas he got pneumonia and now we know, he also had respiratory syncytia virus, or RSV. A normal adult with RSV would experience cold like symptoms that go away in about a week or so. For elderly people with compromised immune systems it can be deadly. In my fathers case it was. If you have anyone with a compromised immune system I HIGHLY recommend you look into buying a UV sanitizing wand. My parents household was very diligent about hand washing and using disinfecting wipes but a UV disinfecting wand would have given them a little bit more piece of mind and sanitation.
