I wrote a while back about MyGreenMattress, and I am excited to share my thoughts now that we have had the mattress for a while!  We were provided a mattress for free, in exchange for a review through the US Family Guide.

We needed something of higher quality for our guest bedroom. Being that Tony and I work opposite shifts,  One of us will sometimes sleep in the guest room, so we don’t wake the other. We also sleep separately if one of us isn’t feeling well.  The guest bedroom has a daybed, with a trundle and both mattress were thin and uncomfortable.  They offered almost zero support. I had resorted to putting 3 down alternative comforters under the fitted sheet just to make the bed more comfortable.

I chose the Pure Echo Twin mattress to review. The website said that the Pure Echo offered a comfortable spring system, and excellent lumbar support. It was a medium-firm mattress, but said that it would relieve pressure points.

The Pure Echo is handcrafted with all-natural, hypoallergenic materials, including organic cotton and natural wool for the deep, healthy sleep you deserve at a price that won’t keep you up at night.

The Mattress Arrival

My Mattress arrived via FedEx in two days. When the mattress arrived, I was surprised to see that it was all rolled up.  It was really heavy – I couldn’t get it up our stairs by myself.

My Green Mattress Pure Echo Rolled UpTony carefully cut open the bag, and the mattress immediately popped out of the cardboard that was protecting it during shipping!

It didn’t take long for Harley to rush in and claim the bed as his. Harley-Claiming-Pure-EchoI couldn’t believe how much thicker the Pure Echo was compared to the previous mattress.  The mattress that we use on the trundle of the day bed was the same as the previous day bed mattress.

Once we had the new mattress on, I realized I wanted to rearrange some furniture, so I moved the daybed to a different wall.

The mattress does have a bit of an odor to it, it’s not a bad odor, but you do notice it when sleeping on it.

Our mattresses do not have a chemical odor, nor do they off-gas any dangerous chemicals. However, you may notice natural odors from organic cotton and wool, that are more pronounced in humid climates. Any smell will dissipate quickly. If you are sensitive to these natural odors we recommend airing out your new mattress or leaving it in the sun in a dry climate before sleeping on your new bed. – My Green Mattress FAQ

So What is the Pure Echo Mattress like to Sleep on?

I’ve slept on the Pure Echo a few times now and love it! Usually during the night with the old mattress,  my hips would hurt, and I would have to keep switching sides, but because this mattress has so much more support, I sleep through the night.

One of the nights I slept in there was because I had hurt my leg and wanted to put the heating pad on it, but we don’t have any extra outlets near our bed in our bedroom.  We have one, and that one has Tony’s CPAP machine and his alarm clock plugged in.

Harley obviously loves the Pure Echo – he sleeps on that bed every day now.  He will growl at Oliver, if Oliver even tries to come in the room while he is on the bed.
